3G Network Technology
3G means third generation technology, and this is mainly for the
wireless networks. Well wireless technology has been in the
field for quite a long time, what is so special about this one?
In simple layman terms it gives more speed like some 14 Mbps for
downlink and 5.8 Mbps for uplink. Since the fore father to this
technology the IEEE 802.11, which is rather famous as Wi-Fi or
the wireless fidelity was used for common commercial uses etc.
But its speed is limited and it couldn't was able to support
heavy traffics so there arose a need for this 3G. This
technology was first introduced and was put in some parts of the
world in late 2001. Till now only 14% of the total mobile users
have switched to 3G phones. This delay is mainly because of the
patent acquiring and frequency bandwidth change which is
required for using the 3G phones. Except America all other
countries had to register for a new frequency spectrum to use it
so it makes the whole process delayed. There are instances where
3G has failed but that happened not due to the inefficiency of
3G but due to non satisfactory business approach used by the
companies. Let's welcome this new wireless future.
